As I walked through the city streets, I was struck by the glaring billboards advertising the latest gadgets, the omnipresent technology controlling our lives, the screens that had become our reality. The idea came to me as a burst of color breaking through the monotony - Artistry. If art can transcend time and space, could it not transcend the iron grasp of technology companies?
Remembering the power of the Renaissance – a period of great cultural change and innovation that reshaped people’s views and led to the modern era – I envisioned a “Digital Renaissance.” It would be an uprising against the hold of tech companies, an artistic rebellion shaping public opinion and uniting humanity to claim back their right to individuality, privacy, and freedom.
I reached out to artists worldwide, those who, like me, felt the need for a change. Together, we would craft a web of creative dissent, a humanity shield. Our tools wouldn’t be placards but paintbrushes, our words would be lyrics and poetry, our images would be digital art pieces questioning the intrusive practices of technology companies.
As messages of support poured in, a quiet murmur transformed into a loud chorus. Artists all over the world lent their voices to the campaign, promising to create art that would spark conversations, challenge beliefs, and shift perspectives. We had ignited a beacon of hope, a call to action — Artistry for Humanity: A Digital Renaissance.
The day we launched our first art piece, a digital mural lampooning a tech giant’s data mining practices, we knew we had embarked on an unprecedented journey.
