The #YouthBizAct campaign is a youth-led initiative designed to challenge corporations and businesses to adopt more socially responsible practices. Leveraging the power of social media, this campaign aims to use collective influence and public pressure to usher in new corporate standards.
CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION:
The campaign will mobilize young people to use their purchasing power and social influence to put pressure on corporations. Youth will engage businesses directly through creative online actions, such as posting photos of boycotted products and sharing stories about the social impact of corporate decision making.
THEORY FOR WHY THIS CAMPAIGN WILL CREATE CHANGE:
A strong corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy can be a powerful tool for improving public perception and fostering a brand’s longevity. The campaign leverages this idea by tapping into the youth influence on social norms and market trends. It uses their collective voices to put pressure on corporations to prioritize CSR and in doing so, create a corporate culture that reflects societal values.
